Elaboration on the term 'Pollution'

First I'd like to say hello to everyone who has come to this blog and seen this post. I know the project didn't exactly had fanfare and everything when it first started so not a lot of attention and hoopla came to this blog. I'd like to try to keep the ball rolling with some helping text of my own, for those who'd like to participate!

---
Pollution is the introduction of substances into the environment such that it results in unpleasant or damaging effects on people, animals, plants and buildings. It may be due to natural events, such as volcanic erruptions or forest fires. However, the greatest source of pollution is from human activities, which contributes the larges amount of harmful substances or pollutants into the environment.

Pollutants are often found in waste. Waste refers to materials that are useless and no longer wanted. Waste generated by households includes leftover food and unclean, used water. Waste can also be generated by industrial or agricultural activities. When waste is not properly disposed of properly or if there is an excessive amount of waste, pollution occurs. For example, the excessive use of fertilisers on farms generates waste as the chemicals in this fertilisers, which are not absorbed by plants, may be washed by rain into rivers, thus polluting them.

Good places to look for images for this project would be landfills, power plants, and industrial areas. Exercise your artistic creativity and do your very best in portraying how such human activities contribute to Global Warming. I wish you the best of luck, and remember to keep yourself and your equipment safe at all times. I think I speak for all the founders of this project when I say we look forward to seeing all your great shots posted at our flickr ;)

Welcome to the blog for photographic change

Hello everyone, a few days ago myself and some friends from a site called http://cameralabs.com/ decided that we would embark on a photo journey to document climate change, everything about it, the causes, the effects, the solutions. After talking for a while, we decided we would create a post on Camera Labs, about our idea to get other contributers, and we decided to expand further and create a blog and flickr pool. So we want everyone to submit their images that fit the critera outlined here. We also ask you to submit your images to the flickr group here, as well as join the group.

Together, we can document climate change and all enviromental impacts in all parts of the world. There is no deadline for submitting , yet but eventually we will create an article using some of the photos, for the print.
